The beach in general Cala Agulla is a wonderful beach and its breath-taking position, nestled between forests and mountains, makes it a proper natural beach. The beach is about 500 metres long and 50 metres wide. It offers bright, fine sand and clear water with a gorgeous blue and turquoise hue.

Cala Ratjada is rather a smaller fishermen's village with a lovely port and several little bays and beaches around. Whether you stay in the southern part - Cala Ratjada or in the northern part - Cala Agulla, you can easily discover both places by foot or by bike.

Cala Ratjada, a busy resort in the far north east of the Island, is a top favourite destination with tourists travelling to Mallorca. Agulla feels like a "party beach". There were countless bachelor parties, loud music, more people, and people smoking. We found far more vendors trying to sell merchandise and fruit (versus one the fruit man at Mesquida). Parking is 6€ versus free at Mesquida. Small set of toilets at the entrance.

The nearest marina to Cala Agulla is the Club Náutico de Cala Ratjada, which is 3 nautical miles away, but we recommend that if you rent a boat you visit other quieter beaches in the area. Due to the existence of stones at the bottom of the beach and its great exposure to the Tramuntana winds, anchoring boats in this area is not recommended.
