Named after the location each of the ingredients comes from - Campari from Milan, and sweet Vermouth from Turin - this simple cocktail is said to have originated in Milan's Caffe Camparino in the 1860s. It's a strong cocktail, but well balanced between sweet and bitter - perfect to enjoy before a meal!

The History. Invented in the 1860's by Gaspare Campari in Milan. Gaspare invented the cocktail as a way to flog more of his eponymous red spirit.
